Coronavirus and Stratford CC Update
In line with British Cycling recommendations the club feels it necessary to temporarily suspend regular training rides until further notice. The British Cycling recommendation to clubs makes reference to the Government guidelines on social gatherings (sic) and non-essential travel.
Cycling is a big part of the lives of our membership and we recognise how important cycling (exercise) is to people's physical and mental well being and the importance of maintaining some degree of normality at this difficult time. It is therefore reassuring to see that British cycling also say “You can still go out on your bike – we just recommend that you follow the latest advice with regards to hygiene and social distancing”.
The government advice referred to above makes no specific mention of cycling and so it is left to us all to interpret the advice as best we may. May we ask all our members to read the government advice and do everything they can to follow it whilst out on their bikes.
Be safe and look after one another.
