Club Competitions

We organise competitions across disciplines and award trophies to our winners at our annual awards ceremony. The club competitions are open to first claim members only and detailed below.

Senior Competitions and 2024 Winners

Road Race

Won by the rider accumulating the highest points in the season based on the BCF points system. Riders may compete in other series and can submit claims to the competition secretary by the 31st October. In event of points being tied or across multiple series the committee will adjudicate the winner.
2024 - Ben Phyall

Scratch Aero Club Time Trial Points

Won by the rider accumulating the highest points total from their best 6 results in the Aero category in club time trials. Based on 20 points allocated to the winner, down to one point for 20th place. There will be classifications for both Open and Female. Aero bikes and rider must conform to the regulations set out by the CTT.
2024 - Philip Marks

Scratch Road Club Time Trial Points

Won by the rider accumulating the highest points total from their best 6 results in the Road category in club time trials. Based on 20 points allocated to the winner, down to one point for 20th place. There will be classifications for both Open and Female. Road bikes and rider must conform to the regulations set out by the CTT.
2024 Nick Green

Veteran Standard Time Trial Points

As for Scratch Open above, but open to veteran riders only. Aero and Road Competitions will be combined into one series based on points awarded. In the event of a tie, this will be broken by the greatest number of Firsts, followed by seconds etc.
2024 - Philip Marks

Handicap Time Trial Points

Won by the rider amassing the highest points total on net handicap position, using the same scoring formula as for the scratch open points. Aero and Road Competitions will be combined into one series based on points awarded. In the event of a tie, this will be broken by the greatest number of Firsts, followed by seconds etc.
2024 - Philip Marks

Club BAR (Open)

Won by the person obtaining the highest average of three events (fastest 2 club series, 10-12 miles, and an open 25 mile). The competition will be based on rides carried out between 1st March and 1st October each year. This will be confined to Stratford Cycling Club events for the short events. Results sheets for Open events must be submitted to the Competition Secretary by 31st October of that year.

Club BAR (Women)

Won by the female obtaining the highest average of three events (fastest 2 club series, 10 -12 miles, and an open 25 mile). The competition will be based on rides carried out between 1st March and 1st October each year. This will be confined to Stratford Cycling Club events for the short events. Results sheets for Open events must be submitted to the Competition Secretary by 31st October of that year.

Hill Climb

Won by the rider with the fastest time in the Club Hill Climb event. Open and Female categories available.

ZWIFT Racing

Awarded to the fastest rider of the end of the seasons Zwift WTRL races. A single race for those riders who competed in the WTRL race series, raced on a Zwift course. Prizes will be awarded to the winner of each category based on Zwift power classification.

Most Improved Rider

Male, female and junior Riders (3 awards). These are discretionary awards made by the Committee to the male, female and junior riders judged to have made the greatest improvement.

Clubman of the Year

A discretionary award made by the Committee to the member they consider having made the greatest contribution to the Club over the previous year.

The Robert Heenan

This memorial Trophy will be awarded to the most outstanding Junior Rider of the year.

 

Youth and Junior Competitions
