Two of our Juniors, Aidan and Benedict, have moved to Germany and whilst settling in to the German cycling scene, they continue to mix things up in Stratford CC jerseys. Here’s what they say about their recent racing exploits.
“It’s not easy to change clubs and get a German racing licence however the Stratford jerseys gain a lot of attention. Germany is a big country, (I’ll never complain about a two hours to Shrewsbury again!) and this weekend we drove to Berlin for a race event around the streets of a Berlin suburb. They do know how to set up a race day, the whole community gets involved, even political parties.”
“Today the primes were sponsored by five different political parties who all put cash up for the winners! All the races we have attended so far have been on closed roads, often with cobbled sections. Today the boys were praying that the rain would stay away, avoiding the ice like cobbles when they get wet, it did! The later races were not so lucky. Today they both took their Stratford jerseys to the top step. Benedict broke away and time-trialled to a solo victory and Aidan crossed the line first in a breakaway group of 3.”
It's great to hear that Aiden and Benedict are getting success in their new home. Well done lads.
